A Century of History: Celebrating 100 Years of the Richey Suncoast Theatre
On July 1, 1926, the Thomas Meighan Theatre officially opened its doors to a capacity crowd of 500 people. The beautiful building was designed by famed architect Thomas Reed Martin. For decades, The New Klondike was thought to be lost forever. But in a true Hollywood ending, the final reel needed to complete the film

48 Hours to Theatre 54: One Night to Save a Century
In 1925, a building was raised in downtown New Port Richey for one purpose — to bring people together for live performance. By the 1970s, that same building stood silent. Empty. At risk of being lost. And then a group of locals decided that wasn't going to happen. They saved it. They scrubbed the floors, restored the stage, and brought the lights back up.
