RST Spotlight Poetry Night, Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM Free to attend, no ticket required. Want to take the stage? Sign up to perform.
Richey Suncoast Theatre is opening its stage to the poets, writers, comedians and musicians of New Port Richey. RST Spotlight Poetry Night is a free evening of poetry, spoken word, comedy and acoustic music on Saturday, November 7, built for local voices and original work.
Your Stage, Your Words
Whether you have been performing for years or you are sharing something out loud for the very first time, there is a spot for you. Poetry, spoken word, comedy and acoustic music are all welcome. A microphone is provided for spoken word and singing, and acoustic guitars and similar instruments get a second microphone of their own.
Performance slots are first come, first served, so grab yours early through the performer sign-up form. Experienced poet or brand new to the mic, we want to hear from you.
Come Listen, Snap and Cheer
You do not have to perform to be part of it. Doors open at 6:30 PM with music already playing and the lights turned low, and at 7:00 PM local artists start sharing their own work. Bring a friend, grab a seat and come ready to laugh, feel, reflect and be inspired by your neighbors.
A Historic Stage for New Voices
This building on Grand Boulevard opened in 1926 as the Meighan Theatre, a movie house named for silent film star Thomas Meighan. In 1972, a young people's theatre group bought it and brought live performance to the stage, and local storytellers have been stepping into that spotlight ever since. As Richey Suncoast Theatre celebrates its 100th year, Spotlight Poetry Night hands the stage to you.
