Spotlight on One of Our Talented Playwrights: Pat Morris!

Pat Morris, a writer with a diverse background in journalism, will be presenting her play "Loose Lips" as part of our Writer's Series on May 1st!

Pat Morris's writing journey has taken her across the United States, from the newsrooms of New Jersey, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, before she found her home in the vibrant community of New Port Richey, Florida. Since moving to the area in 2017, she has become a valued voice as a staff writer for The Suncoast News, keeping her finger on the pulse of local stories and events.

Beyond her journalistic endeavors, Pat is also a published author of engaging short stories, with her work appearing in esteemed publications such as Detective Mystery Short Stories, Manhattan Linear, Heartland Women Writers, and Lost Girls. Her ability to craft compelling narratives has now led her to a new and exciting venture: playwriting.

"Loose Lips," the play Pat will be presenting as part of the Richey Suncoast Theatre's Writer's Series on May 1, 2025, marks her debut in the world of theatre. This performance offers a unique opportunity to witness a seasoned writer explore a new dramatic form.

In addition to her writing career, Pat is deeply involved in her local community, dedicating her time to volunteer work at a food pantry. Her creative interests are wide-ranging, encompassing the intricate art of textile creation, which likely adds another layer of depth and texture to her storytelling. She also enjoys the captivating world of crime television, perhaps finding inspiration for her plots and characters within its narratives.
