Theatre Kids’ Club (Ages 6–12)

Looking for a fun and engaging way for your child to spend their Thursday afternoons? Our Theatre Kids’ Club offers exciting after-school sessions every Thursday throughout the spring. Each week, young participants delve into a different facet of theatre, exploring acting, singing, design, movement, musical theatre, and much more. This variety ensures a well-rounded introduction to the world of performing arts, allowing children to discover hidden talents and passions. Beyond the fun, the Theatre Kids’ Club provides a supportive and flexible setting where kids can build confidence, discover their creativity, make new friends, and learn valuable new skills.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to give your child an exciting and creative Thursday after school for just $25 per session! The final spring sessions are scheduled for May 1, 8, 15, and 22, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Don't miss out on these last chances to join the fun! The diverse curriculum of the Theatre Kids' Club offers a holistic introduction to arts education, potentially sparking an interest in various theatrical disciplines and allowing children to uncover their unique talents. Kids Night Out Party (Ages 6-12)

Need a midweek treat for the kids? RST’s Kids Night Out events are themed, one-evening gatherings packed with supervised fun and opportunities to make new friends. These events provide a perfect way for kids to get out of the house, socialize safely, and have a blast. Mark your calendars for upcoming Kids Night Out events: May 22nd for a Party at the Movies, June 26th (theme to be announced), and July 24th (theme to be announced). While the initial information mentioned a Karaoke & Pizza night on July 24th, the most recent schedule indicates the theme is yet to be determined. Keep an eye on our website for updates! Looking for a fun night out for the kids? Join us for these exciting evenings – no parents’ night in required! The themed nature of these events keeps the program exciting and encourages children to return for different experiences. Shrek Jr - the Musical. (Ages 6–18)

Imagine the thrill of seeing your child on stage in a full-scale musical production! Richey Suncoast Theatre Presents: Shrek the Musical JR. Join us for a brand new theatre arts initiative where our talented RST Kids shine both on stage and behind the scenes! This production features performers, production crew, and a young artists’ committee, all aged 18 and under.

Producing Director: Jess Glasspresents Shrek Jr., an immersive experience where children learn every aspect of putting on a show, from the initial auditions all the way to the excitement of opening night. This program offers a comprehensive introduction to theatre production, fostering teamwork, leadership, and invaluable performance skills. Your child will have a blast bringing this beloved story to life on stage! Show dates are August 1st and 2nd at 7:00 PM, and August 2nd and 3rd at 2:00 PM. Rehearsals begin in July, and an audition is required to participate. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience – auditions are open now!

RST Kids Musical Theatre Summer Camp

Looking for a summer filled with theatrical adventure? Richey Suncoast Theatre’s Summer Stage Spectacular offers full-day (9:00 AM–3:00 PM) theatrical experiences throughout the summer months. Each week features a different theme and theatrical discipline, providing a diverse and engaging summer experience. The weekly schedule is as follows:

Each camp week is packed with activities, including Musical Theatre Exploration, Theatre Games, Theatrical Design Projects, Improvisation & Imagination Games, and culminates in a Final Friday Performance & Pizza Karaoke Party! Last day of camp includes a showcase parents can attend.  After the showcase, kids and parents can stay for a karaoke pizza party for $5.

The cost is $250.00 per child per week, and space is limited to 30 students each week, so early registration is encouraged. Income-based scholarships are also available, making these incredible opportunities accessible to more families.

The carefully curated themes and age ranges for each summer camp week ensure a developmentally appropriate and engaging experience for every child. The inclusion of a week focused on Acting & Technical Theatre broadens the appeal to children with diverse interests beyond just performing.
