A Century in the Making: Raising the Roof for Richey Suncoast Theatre

For 100 years, the Richey Suncoast Theatre has been the heartbeat of downtown New Port Richey. It has survived Florida land booms, economic busts, and a global pandemic. Today, we aren't just celebrating that history—we are building the next century.

Building for the Next 100 Years

If you’ve walked by the theatre lately, you’ve likely seen the activity. We are officially underway with critical capital improvements, including:

  • A Brand New Roof: Securing the structure and protecting our historic stage.

  • Solar Panel Installation: Partnering with May Solar and SELF to ensure our theatre is energy-efficient and sustainable for decades to come.

  • Modern Infrastructure: Critical AC and electrical upgrades to keep our performers and audiences comfortable.

The Power of Community

“This Theatre is still standing strong because this community refuses to give up on it,” says Board President Lia Gallegos.

This "renaissance" didn’t happen by accident. It is the result of tireless work by our staff, volunteers, the City of New Port Richey, and a dedicated Board of Directors who stepped up when things looked bleak. From the hard work of governance and budgeting to the creative spark on stage, every sold-out weekend is a testament to the people who call this theatre home.

“There would be no renaissance without the people who stepped in when things looked bleak. Their leadership helped transform uncertainty into momentum.” — Susie Saxe, Executive Director

How You Can Be Part of the Legacy

The lights are bright, the rehearsals are loud, and our calendar is full. But we aren’t done yet. Our Support the Renovation: Capital Fundraiser is the engine driving these upgrades.

Whether you are a long-time season ticket holder or a first-time visitor, you can help us "Raise the Roof."

A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to extend a massive thank you to our partners who are making this vision a reality:
