Thomas Meighan 2020 Film Festival

Dance Project

It is our goal to expand the theatre to include not only live entertainment, but add and restore a fully functional movie house, creating educational programs in digital art & filmmaking as well as making all the arts a key component in the revitalization in the area.

39th annual Black Maria Film and Video Festival
The films that become the centerpiece of the Black Maria Film and Video Festival honor the vision of Thomas Edison, inventor and creator of the motion picture.

It was his New Jersey studio, the world’s first, which he called the “black maria” from which we take our name. The festival reaches out to diverse audiences in diverse settings including universities, museums, libraries, community organizations, and arts venues.
